And Finally...

... a few shots from the last day of WFF 10.

Once again, not too many photo opportunities, so I grabbed what I could.

Waiting outside the Orpheum before the morning round of film delivery and pick-up begins:

Projectionist Andrew Yonda has everything well in hand at the Cinematheque:

From the night before - an odd label on a film can:

Over at the Play Circle, the obligatory Frederic March:

Took a peek out the window at Lake Mendota:

A crowd leaving a screening at the Stage Door:

Scotty G. and Pouria say hey between movies ...

... and get a shot of those daring young men in the Bucky Trucky:

A bit after that, it was off to attend to some TA duties for the bulk of the afternoon.

That evening, a whole bunch of fresh-faced folk joined in to help break down all 11 venues. Here's two of them, Laura Frank and Bradinn French:

Again, like a lot of people, they volunteered their time and effort. Bradinn makes films with Scotty G and Pouria. Laura, back from a stint in Deutschland, also worked as a projectionist during the fest.

Normally, for me, the close of the festival is represented by the last round of film pick-ups on Sunday night, one last bit of effort, kind of like that last sprint you kick into during a run. When you get the last film can out of the truck and squared away in Vilas, it's a really good feeling, something to look forward to.

I missed out on most of that this year. I did help out a tiny bit closing out at the Bartell, where I did get to see this very nice chair, but it wasn't the same:

So I was kind of weirdly out of it and feeling like a real bum by the time I got to the Orpheum for the little end-of-the-show get together, particularly since I knew the last bit of work was still being done in Veelosh (and by my students and co-workers to boot).

Still, Joe Beres was there with his wife, so that was cool, seeing them again before they head back out of town:

And there's film student Karim Patterson, chatting with volunteer coordinator Jess Main:

And there's Jess again. It's her second year as Volunteer Coordinator. She's pretty good at this festival thing - a light touch with people, and quick on her feet.

Goofin' with the flame motif again:

There's Meg:

Erik makes it back from Veelosh, kind of the unofficial close of the festival:

Time for one last photo.

Meg and Erik heading out to grab some late night food at El Campesino with Jess and myself, the Tenth Annual Wisconsin Film Festival finally over:

The radio was playing "We Are the Champions." Really.

But wait, it's not over yet! Monday in Studio D. Lots of stuff to ship back out the door:

That's Marina Kelly way back there, FedExing away. Here she is from shortly before the fest:

Marina, Meg, Erik, Jess and others, still working the festival long after the last frame hit the screen. And so on. And so on.

Okay, I think that's alls what I gots. An underperformance by me at the end, which still feels bad, but otherwise, a pretty good festival all around. Thanks to everyone what worked their collective butts off to make this thing happen.

Bonus track: Andy introducing Loose Cannons. Just missed him intro-ing his cousin Dave, but here's the rest:

There's another screening at the Orpheum on, I think, April 25th.

And that's it, Fort Pitt.
